I have been having problems with the cigarette light socket for the old MG ZR 1.4 (2002) so I recently bough a new complete unit. I am struggling to fit it, I pulled out the centre console and got behind the lighter socket to disconnect the 3 wires and then could not remove the unit... Hi all.
I have been having problems with the cigarette light socket for the old MG ZR 1.4 (2002) so I recently bough a new complete unit.

I am struggling to fit it, I pulled out the centre console and got behind the lighter socket to disconnect the 3 wires and then could not remove the unit thereafter, I tried twisting and turning etc but to no effect and I did NOT want to force the issue in case anything broke.

Has anyboby got any tips or advise for the fitting ???

Our ZT has the Highline stereo, TV etc fitted, and I've just got a couple of questions.

Firstly, the satnav doesn't work. There is no red light on the drive in the boot and it doesn't show up on the menu.
Is there a way of 'waking it up' or is it dead?

Secondly, the trip computer. How do you control it?
I can scroll up and down the stats with the knob but can't select them etc.
I read in the handbook about a button on the left hand stalk - but our car doesn't have this!?
How do I go about zeroing the stats for a new journey etc?

This was purchased from Zytek a few years ago. The shell is complete with doors and panels. It has had modifications done to it including additional strenghthening to the chassis. I have a 1998 1.8 freelander that has developed a clicking/tapping noise from the top end off the engine, that increases with revs. It's not a constant noise, but noticed it only starts when the engine is started when warm. It's getting more regular now, and abit worried incase it go's bang. I have dropped the glovebox and assumed that it was the interior light vibrating against what looks like an airbag assembly (alloy metal box). Cushioned it with some foam but it's still there... can't see anything else it could be... any ideas?
